Blaine and Carrin

Blaine and I were married on Aug. 10, 1982 in the Los Angeles Temple. We have 7 children. I gave birth to 4 and then we adopted a sibling group of 3. We love all of our children so much!! We now have 6 grandchildren. I love the ocean and Catalina is one of my favorites places. Blaine loves the mountains and fishing and hunting, he also loves Catalina. I have traveled across the US on the southern route. We went to college in Rexburg, Idaho when we first got married.

A real Vacation Day

So you know all those vac days I need to take, use it or lose it, well those random vac days usually consist of cleaning my house and running errands etc. Not this time. I left early this morning and went down to Huntington Beach to swap cars with Quinn, I have his he had mine. Well he took me downtown in Huntington Beach. What a beautiful little city, we parked in the parking structure then walked to BJ's for lunch then walked out on the pier, yes I got to see the ocean. It is a beautiful beach with white sand stretching in both directions for miles. At the end of the pier we could see a land mass way out on the horizon, it was Catalina Island! The weather was gorgeous, about 78 with a cool ocean breeze. Just wish it was so crowded in the summer. It took me 4 hours to get home due to the horrible LA traffic, bumper to bumper for miles. I had a great day though and loved getting to spend some time with Quinn.

I warned you Carla....

This is too good to let go unshared. I think Devonn and Carla are overly excited about our trip to Hawaii that it's affecting their brain cells, lol. Carla called me today to tell me that they were making the parking reservation for our car near the airport and wanted to know the FJ's license plate number?? I said "uh... PAPASFJ", she SAID der.. Devonn didn't even get it either. That was great, best call of the day.

Oh My Gosh!!

Devonn and Carla came over with a BIG surprise. They are taking Blaine and I to Hawaii!!!!! I think they got a great package. I think they were trying to one up Gary and Emilee for getting us the WII for Christmas, lol. Actually they had planned to go anyway and decided to take us along since the airlines are having extremly low rates right now!! Here is where we are staying, the Wyland Waikiki. I can't wait to snorkle! We are going during Spring Break so we'll have some income tax refund money. I feel a little bad that they should buy an old used car instead, but not too bad, lol. :)

Cabin on Veteran's Day

Well there wasn't any snow left at the cabin, it's been so warm lately, all three feet of powder only 2 weeks ago gone but the girls got to go up to the summit where we found snow, it was a little hard for the boys so they'll just wait until we get some more powder at the cabin. I just enjoy going up there and getting fresh air. Every time we go Blaine wants to move up into those mountains or the Poso Flat area, picture included. Notice the cute picture of James at the cabin and naughty Andrew in the background, touching something he shouldn't! he is so busted. For those who haven't been up to the cabin that is an electric heater.

Friday night with James

James and I played the spongebob board game and James won, then I picked up some milk shakes at Sonic when I went to get Jazmine, James stayed with Papa, he wanted a banana shake, he had a bath after his shake and then we all sat in the big living room and watched Ghost Whisperer with popcorn, at one point he said that the girl ghost was bugging Ned, lol. He brushed his teeth and we went into the guest room and I started to pull down the covers and he looked up and said "that is a big closet in here", so.... he is now sleeping upstairs on our couch with his sleeping bag, lol. Thanks to his mom and dad for reading him the Nightmare in my Closet book, lol. He is really easy to have over, I know Andrew will be too when he is James' age. I sure love them both.

kids and a good laugh

We have an autistic class with high functioning kids come to the lab, they just love the computers!! Today one of the little boys was playing the States game and he got excited and bouncing up and down said, "Miss Schultz, Miss Schultz, look, it's the Statue of Licorice" She gentle corrected him 'Liberty" I was laughing so hard. Priceless.

Back to work

Well my post will probably be much smaller now that I am back to work. It was a great two weeks off. I so enjoyed seeing all of my kids and getting to spend more time with them all. I enjoyed Garrett's phone call on Christmas and for my birthday and all the calls since. I enjoyed our visit up at Shaver Lake with my sister and family. We're going to go up to the cabin and play in the snow for Martin Luther King Day. I hope 2009 will be a great year for everyone!
