We now have 6 grandchildren. I love the ocean and Catalina is one of my favorites places. Blaine loves the mountains and fishing and hunting, he also loves Catalina. I have traveled across the US on the southern route. We went to college in Rexburg, Idaho when we first got married.

A Nice Getaway

Blaine surprised me with a little get away to Ventura for our Monday Holiday. We left after we came home from church and had lunch changed and packed. We checked into the Best Western in Ventura, had some Chinese Buffet and a nice quiet evening. We slept in and they had a nice continental breakfast, we had waffles. Next we walked to the beach, it was a short walk over the bridge, we sat and watched the ocean for awhile then walked out on the pier.

The sun was out and no wind, it felt warm on our backs. I love the smell and sounds of the ocean and gulls.

We then walked back to our hotel and watched a little TV till it was time to check out, noon. We then headed over to the Ventura harbor and went in some shops, we bought Lexi a little Ventura shirt and then went to the arcade and bought some candy for the boys and Jazmine. I took a picture of the Harbor, it was so beautiful.

Then we decide to go to Port Hueneme for lunch, we went to the beach there and used Blaine's GPS to find a Mexican Grill which happened to be across the street. Next we headed to Oxnard to see a movie in the 14 Cinema, it was a nice theater with stadium seating and rocking seats. We saw Unknown, it was really a good movie, so hard to find these days. Next we headed for home stopping by Subway for dinner and heading to Emilee and Gary's. We had sandwiches, some sweet basil soup and yummy red velvet cake. It was nice to visit then we headed home. I am already ready to go again.

Long Time No Blog

It's been a very stressful last few months and I just haven't had the energy to blog. Adult kid problems. I am also working an extra two hours at Roosevelt School but I enjoy it and we will earn some extra money to help pay off debts, we are so behind in our bills right now so it was a blessing that came along. The solar panels seem to be working good even with the limited sun our electric bill was 165.00 instead of 794.00, our gas was 180 instead of 130 but we use more hot water and the central heat uses gas I'm told but all in all a much lower utility bill.
James and Andrew got to spend the night on Friday and I had a lot of fun with them, we chased papa down stairs so we could have a dance party upstairs and play the music real loud. We danced to Baby you're a Firework, Hey Soul Sister, One Day, (which Andrew took a real liking too) gaga's Just Dance for James and then James had me pull up some Japanese grunge rock band his dad lets him listen too off youtube, so he was head banging, lol. Then later after some video games we all jumped in the big bed and told stories, we each got to tell one. I sure love those silly boys and they don't mind when Nana acts like a dork and dances with them. :) Papa took them in the morning to the car wash and them to get a donut, then they helped him mow the grass before their mom, dad and Lexi came over. Lexi is getting so big and I just love her smiles and beautiful blue eyes and strawberry blond hair.
